Modelling materials (part 13)

I started this series of articles in 2012. I have always presented in it all new products that appeared in my workshop. I still own most of them and use most of them to this day. Well, unless they were killed by the tooth of time, like some paints or primers... For this reason, I had to supplement the workshop with a few things, and additionally some new products came in. I invite you to a short review of my drawers :)

Ten cykl artykułów zapoczątkowałem w 2012 roku. Przedstawiałem w nim od zawsze wszelkie nowe produkty jakie pojawiały się w moim warsztacie. Praktycznie wszystkie nadal posiadam i w większości używam do dzisiaj. No chyba, że zabił je ząb czasu jak część farb czy podkładów... Z tego powodu, musiałem uzupełnić warsztat o kilka rzeczy, i dodatkowo wpadły jakieś nowe produkty. Zapraszam, do krótkiego przeglądu moich szuflad :)

GREEN PUTTY

I really like using Games Workshop's Liquid Green Stuff to fill in any gaps in my miniatures. Unfortunately, this product dries very quickly and is not suitable for further use. So this time I invested in Green Putty from Green Stuff World. It is packed in the form of a tube, from which we squeeze the product like toothpaste. I hope it doesn't dry out so quickly. At the moment it meets my expectations.

Bardzo lubię używać Liquid Green Stuff od Games Workshop do wypełniania wszelkich ubytków w figurkach. Niestety ten produkt bardzo szybko zasycha i nie nadaje się do dalszego wykorzystania. Tym razem zainwestowałem więc w Green Putty od Green Stuff World. Jest on zapakowany w formie tubki, z której wyciskamy produkt jak pastę do mycia zębów. Mam nadzieję, że nie wyschnie tak szybko. Na tą chwilę spełnia moje oczekiwania.

FOAM SANDING PADS (Fine Grit Assortment)

A very useful thing are fine sandpapers in the form of soft sponges. A few years ago, they were a very hard-to-find product. Today, for example, in the Green Stuff World store you can buy all their variants. I got myself a universal set containing grains of 800, 1200, 2000, 2500. 5 pieces of each thickness in one set.

Bardzo przydatną rzeczą są drobne papiery ścierne w postaci miękkich gąbek. Kilka lat temu były bardzo trudno dostępnym produktem. Dzisiaj np. w sklepie Green Stuff World można zakupić wszelkie ich warianty. Ja zaopatrzyłem się w uniwersalny zestaw zawierający grubość ziaren 800, 1200, 2000, 2500. Po 5 sztuk z każdej grubości w jednym zestawie.

"Hobby foam sandpaper pads are available in different grits and they are valid either for rough or fine sanding. SOFT/HARD SANDING STRIPES

I also added another abrasive strips to the workshop, this time from the Polish brand Creative Tools. This is quite a "fresh" product on the market. Two kits are available. A set of soft abrasive sponges with grits of 800, 100, 1200, 1500, 2000. In addition, these sponges have different thicknesses of 3x2mm and 2x5mm from each grit. The second set consists of papers on a very stiff 3mm thick base with a grain size of 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200. Such a set is perfect for the workshop for all miniatures needs :)

Dorzuciłem również do warsztatu kolejne paski ścierne tym razem od polskiej marki Creative Tools. To dość "świeży" produkt na rynku. Dostępne są dwa zestawy. Zestaw miękkich gąbek ściernych o ziarnistości 800, 100, 1200, 1500, 2000. Dodatkowo gąbki te mają rózną grubość 3x2mm i 2x5mm z każdej ziarnistości.  Drugi zestaw to papiery na bardzo sztwnym podkładzie grubości 3mm o ziarnistości 400,600,800,1000,1200. Taki komplet idealnie nadaje się do warsztatu na wszelkie figurkowe potrzeby :)

SURFACE PRIMERS

Unfortunately, after years I ran out of my favorite gray airbrush primer. Unfortunately, Vallejo's white primer was no longer suitable for use. It stratified, thickened and lumps of pigment formed in it. For this reason, I bought foundations from Green Stuff World and I must admit that they work very well.

Niestety po latach skończył mi się mój ulubiony szary podkład do aerografu. Biały podkład Vallejo nie nadawal sie już do użycia. Rozwarstwił się, zgęstniał i powstały w nim grutki pigmentu. Z tego powodu zaopatrzyłem się w podkłady od Green Stuff World i muszę przyznać, że sprawdzają się bardzo dobrze.

SPRAY PRIMER

Standard spray praimers :) I use them very rarely. I mainly apply a primer using an airbrush, but sometimes I use a spray for bases or dioramas. We'll see how this product works.

Standardowe podkłady w spreyu :) Używam ich bardzo rzadko. Głównie nakładam podkład przy użyciu aerografu ale czasem stosuje sprey w przypadku podstawek czy dioram. Zobaczymy jak sprawdzi się ten produkt.
