Painting "Secret Agent Aida" (SBS)

Another "Step by Step" for you. Another full project creation chronicle. This is a chronicle, because 7 years passed from the purchase of this miniature to its completion :) Please excuse the missing descriptions or the uneven quality of the photo, but I don't remember everything. I started painting this figurine a few years ago. I finished it this year after a break from the hobby for several years. However, I found historical photos on the hard drive, which I supplemented with new ones. I hope you will enjoy watching them :)

Kolejny "Step by Step" dla Was. Kolejna kronika stworzenia pełnego projektu. Tak kronika bowiem od nabycia tej figurki do jej ukończenia minęło 7 lat :) Wybaczcie zatem braki w opisach czy nierównej jakości zdjęcia ale wszystkiego już nie pamiętam. Zacząłem bowiem malować ta figurkę kilka lat temu. Dokończyłem ja w tym roku po kilku letniej przerwie od hobby. Na dysku znalazłem jednak historyczne zdjęcia, które uzupełniłem nowymi. Mam nadzieję, że będzie się je mimo wszystko miło oglądało :)

To niesamowite ale piszę ten post w grudniu 2023, a ten model zrecenzowałem dla Was w październiku 2016 roku:

I prepared the model for painting and thoroughly degreased it with soap and water.

Model przygotowałem do malowania i dokładnie odtłuściłem wodą z mydłem.

The kit included a simple base as part of a paved road. I mounted it on a resin pedestal from the now defunct company Secret Weapons.

W zestawie znajdowała się podstawka jako element wybrukowanej drogi. Zamontowałem ją na żywicznym piedestale od nieistniejącej już firmy Secret Weapons.

Then one of my daughters (the younger one) helped me choose the colors :)

Następnie jedna z moich córek (młodsza) pomogła mi dobrać kolory :)

Basic street color.

Bazowy kolor ulicy.

Black wash over the entire surface.
Czarny wash na całej powierzchni.

Another layer of black wash only in the cracks and on randomly selected paving stones.

Kolejna warstwa czarnego wash'a już tylko w szczelinach oraz na losowo wybranych kostkach bruku.

Highlighting the entire surface using the Dry Brush technique.
Rozjaśnienie całej powierzchni techniką Dry Brush.

Another highlighting, but only in the central part of the base.

Kolejne rozjaśnienie ale tylko w centralnej części podstawki.

Using an airbrush, I applied a black wash to create shadows in two opposite corners of the stand.

Za pomocą aerografu naniosłem czarny wash aby wytworzyć cienie w dwóch przeciwległych kątach podstawki.

I deepened the shadows even more.

Jeszcze bardziej pogłębiłem cienie.

I covered the surface with matte varnish.

Całość pokryłem matowym lakierem.

I considered the base finished.
Podstawkę uznałem za skończoną.

I started painting the individual parts of the figure before assembling it. I painted the trousers and the red coat entirely using an airbrush (base color, preliminary shadows and highlights). Unfortunately, there are no more detailed photos at this point...

Zacząłem malować poszczególne części figurki przed złożeniem ją w całość. Spodnie i czerwony płaszcz w całości pomalowałem za pomocą aerografu (kolor bazowy, wstępne cienie i rozjaśnienie). Niestety w tym właśnie miejscu zabrakło dokładniejszych zdjęć...

Once the individual parts of the model were ready, I could start gluing them together. Wherever possible, I used metal pins and Super Glue.

Mając gotowe poszczególne części modelu mogłem zacząć sklejać je w całość. Gdzie to obyło możliwe użyłem pinów z metalowych spinaczy oraz kleju typu Super Glue.

With the model complete, I could now focus on improving the highlights and shadows.
Mając model w całości mogłem skupić się teraz na poprawieniu rozjaśnień i cieni.

I glued the legs. The model is perfectly casted, so everything fit together perfectly :) I painted the black shoes with shiny varnish.

Przykleiłem nogi. Model jest idealnie odlany więc wszystko idealnie do siebie pasowało :) Pomalowałem czarne buty błyszczącym lakierem.

I attached the figure to the base using the metal pin in the left leg.
Zamocowałem figurkę na podstawce wykorzystując metalowy pin w lewej nodze. 

To bring out the depth of color and increase realism, I painted the coat with satin varnish.
Aby wydobyć głębię kolorów i zwiększyć realizm, pomalowałem płaszcz satynowym lakierem.

How to make a simple labels for bases?

Below are photos of the finished model taken on the balcony in daylight.
Poniżej zdjęcia skończonego modelu zrobione na balkonie w dziennym świetle.

It's not an outstanding model or outstanding painting, but this figure has something about it that I have always liked. Plus it looks great in my display case with the rest of my collection :)

Nie jest to wybitny model i wybitne malowanie ale ta figurka ma w sobie to coś co zawsze mi się podobało. Do tego świetnie prezentuje się w mojej gablocie z resztą kolekcji :)
