Portable Hobby Station - HobbyZone (EN VERSION)
Then the guide is not an exact manual for Portable Station - Base (HZ-OPB1) by Hobby Zone. Rather, it is a collection of photos from each stage to facilitate proper assembly. I have pointed out things here that may be difficult or that you may miss. Some "tips & tricks" :)
Please remember that all of this I give you for free. It would be so nice if you leave a mark in the form of comment and share this article to your friends. If you want to buy me a coffee or a beer the "DONATE" button is below.
The product box contains assembly instruction. It is very detailed. Please follow these instruction. Do everything in the order specified by the manufacturer. It is of great importance that our Portable Hobby Station is properly assembled.
- cross screwdriver
- wood glue
- masking tape (painter's)
- hammer
- damp cloth
- permanent marker (optional)
It is very important to use the appropriate polarity of the magnets. It does not have to be as specified in the instructions, but the pole direction you have chosen must be maintained throughout the entire box. This will be important later when you start filling the portable workshop with inserts (drawers, etc.)
To make it easier, you can mark one of the poles as a reference pole with a marker.
STEP 1
At this stage we will prepare the main walls of the box. First we will deal with the four side walls.
Prepare your magnets.
Use a hammer to drive the magnets into all the holes indicated in the instructions. Remember to maintain the uniform polarity of the magnets in all walls! If, despite everything, you happen to stick the magnet in the wrong direction, it's not a tragedy. Just use a thin screwdriver, remove the magnet and install it correctly.
Now we will move on to installing the bolt nuts.
We also drive the nuts into all the holes indicated in the instructions using a hammer. You don't need much force here. Don't hit too hard to avoid damaging the corners! The most important thing is that the nuts go as deep as possible into the holes. Press them, for example, with a Phillips screwdriver or tighten them with screws according to the notes in the manual.
We perform similar activities in the two walls that will be the bottom of our box. Pay attention to the polarity of the magnets!
Repeat the steps in the two upper walls. They have additional holes. I will remind you ad nauseum about the polarity of magnets. With these elements, it is the opposite of the one you chose previously!
We only have two white shelves left. We only need to install magnets in them.
These shelves are very thin. Magnets can sometimes fall out. It is worth gluing them here with wood glue.
STEP 2
In the second step, we will install the corners, which bind the entire structure. They are responsible for connecting all the walls of the box. Please note that two of these connectors also function as hinges. If you have a problem and the screw does not reach the nut, push it deep into the hole. I mentioned this in the previous steps.
STEP 3
Screw the connectors in the corners of the two remaining walls. Two of the connectors function as box closures. We proceed in the same way as in step 2.
STEP 4
In step four, we will install the lower and upper walls.
We will additionally glue these walls with wood glue.
Remove excess glue with a damp cloth.
Pay attention to press the walls well into place. The holes in the walls must coincide with the holes in the connectors.
Screw the walls to the connectors.
STEP 5
In step five, we assemble the two remaining side walls of the box by gluing them and screwing them with connectors. (The assembly method is the same as in the previous step.)
STEP 6
This step is quite non-obvious and may surprise you. Believe me, during the testing of this product (in which I participated) in the design phase, this method of assembly turned out to be the best. We now need to unscrew the 8 connectors in the corners of the box as shown in the drawing in the instructions.
STEP 7
By unscrewing the connectors in the previous step, we can now easily and reliably install two side walls with the manufacturer's logo. Pay attention to where the top and bottom of the box are to mount them correctly.
We glue the walls with wood glue! We press hard and before the glue dries, we quickly move on to the next, eighth step.
STEP 8
We reinstall the previously unscrewed connectors.
We press the walls with the manufacturer's logo. Additionally, we glue the walls with painter's tape to eliminate any gaps. When the glue dries, remove the tape. It should not damage the surface of the box or leave any traces.
STEP 9
This is the last step. You need to install a strap that serves as a handle for carrying the box.
EXTRA STEP
The stickers are specially cut in half to be placed on the side walls that open. They are of very good quality and you should not have any problems with gluing them.
I personally enriched the box with other stickers, but this is a very personal matter for each of you :)
This is what my box looks like with the purchased and installed inserts :)
