LUCENT Art and Hobby Light - Game Envy

After many years of using VVELLEMAN VTLAMP6 lamps converted to LED lighting, it's time for a change. I have been considering a new lamp for my workshop for a long time. Any new Velleman hybrids didn't appeal to me. The ideal Redgrass R9 direct tube lamp hindered me with its price. I came across a small well-known lamp from Game Envy from the USA. A lamp may be considered an alternative to a solution that may be considered an alternative. I took the risk and I wasn't disappointed. Below is my list of control devices from LUCENT lamps, over the last few months.

Po wielu latach użytkowania lampy VELLEMAN VTLAMP6 przerobionej na oświetlenie LED, nadszedł czas na zmianę. Długo analizowałem jaką nową lampę kupić do mojego warsztatu. Wszelkie nowe hybrydy Velleman nie przemawiały do mnie. Idealna wręcz lampa Redgrass R9 zniechęciła mnie ceną. Natrafiłem na mało znaną lampę firmy Game Envy z USA. Lampa wydawała mi się świetną alternatywą dla powyższych, wspomnianych rozwiązań. Zaryzykowałem i nie zawiodłem się. Poniżej znajdziecie moja recenzję i odczucia z używania lampy LUCENT, przez ostatnich kilka miesięcy.

The lamp arrives packed in a box with simple graphics.

Lampa dociera do nas zapakowana w pudełko z prostą oprawą graficzną. 

Inside, the lamp is protected with a plastic insert. Already at this stage you can notice how small this lamp is when folded. A big plus for transport, e.g. to painting workshops.

W środku lampa zabezpieczona jest plastikową wkładką. Już na tym etapie można zauważyć jak mała jest ta lampka po złożeniu. Duży plus do transportu np. na warsztaty malarskie.

INSTRUCTION

INSTRUKCJA

The set includes instructions. Contrary to appearances, it is important. In addition to a detailed construction diagram with dimensions and all options for bending the lamp, it contains a description of the control buttons.

W zestawie  znajduje się instrukcja. Wbrew pozorom jest ona istotna. Oprócz dokładnego schematu budowy z wymiarami i wszystkimi opcjami wyginania lampki, zawiera opis przycisków sterujących.

POWER SUPPLY

ZASILANIE

Unfortunately (for Europeans), the lamp comes with a power supply with a typical US Type A plug.

Niestety (dla Europejczyków) lampka ma w zestawie zasilacz z typową wtyczką US Type A. 

Fortunately, this power supply operates in the input voltage range of 120/240V. This means that it's enough to use a regular adapter for a European standard power socket. The price of such an adapter is 1 EURO. It's a pity that the manufacturer doesn't include it in the set.

Na szczęście zasilacz ten pracuje w zakresie napięcia wejściowego 120/240V. Oznacza to, że wystarczy zastosować zwykłą przejściówkę na Europejski standard gniazdka zasilającego. Cena takiej przejściówki to 5zł. Szkoda, że producent nie dokłada jej do zestawu.

CLAMP

ZACISK

The lamp is attached to the table top using a minimalist clamp. The clamp is an integral part of the lamp. Unlike Valleman lamps, it is not detachable. As the lamp is incredibly light (made of aluminum), this type of clamp is completely sufficient and fulfills its function very well.

Lampe przymocowuje się do blatu stołu za pomocą minimalistycznego zacisku. Zacisk jest integralną częścią lampy. Inaczej niż w przypadku lamp marki Valleman, nie jest odczepiany. Jako, że lampka jest niesamowicie lekka (wykonana z aluminium), tego typu zacisk jest całkowicie wystarczający i bardzo dobrze spełnia swoją funkcję.

CONTROLS

STEROWANIE

As I mentioned earlier, the lamp control is described in detail in the user manual.
Jak już wspomniałem wcześniej, sterowanie lampki jest dokładnie opisane w instrukcji obsługi.

The control buttons are touch sensitive. They are sensitive and work very well. I have no objections here. We can control the light power in 5 levels (20%-40%-60%-80%-100%) or smoothly by holding the M button. We can select 5 levels of light temperature (3000K-3500K-4000K-5000K-6500K) or also change it smoothly. We can turn on all the LED panels or only half of them.

Przyciski sterujące są dotykowe. Są czułe i działają bardzo dobrze. Nie mam tutaj żadnych zastrzeżeń. Możemy sterować mocą świecenia w 5 poziomach (20%-40%-60%-80%-100%) lub płynnie, poprzesz przytrzymania przycisku M. Możemy wybrać 5 poziomów temperatury światła (3000K-3500K-4000K-5000K-6500K) lub również zmieniać ją płynnie. Możemy włączyć wszystkie panele LED lub tylko połowę. 

Additionally, the lamp has a built-in lighting sensor, thanks to which the lamp automatically selects the lighting power. I must admit that it works very well.

Dodatkowo lampka ma wbudowany czujnik oświetlenia, dzięki czemu lampka sama dobiera moc świecenia. Musze przyznać, że działa to bardzo dobrze.

CONFIGURABILITY

KONFIGUROWALNOŚĆ

One of the advantages of the LUCENT lamp is its enormous configurability. The graphic below shows all the points of the lamp that can be bent or rotated. Thanks to this, the lamp can be folded to a really small size, which makes it easier to transport. I would like to point out that the position adjustment is quite specific. All movable points are quite stiff and you need to use two hands to change position. However, once set, the lamp will not change its position. There is no possibility of automatic adjustment or falling of the lamp.

Jedną z zalet lampy LUCENT jest ogromna możliwość jej konfigurowania. Na poniższej grafice pokazano wszystkie punkty lampy, które możemy wyginać czy obracać. Dzięki temu lampę możemy złożyć do naprawdę małych rozmiarów co ułatwia jej transportowanie. Zwrócę uwagę, że regulacja pozycji jest dość specyficzna. Wszystkie ruchome punkty są dość sztywne i należy użyć dwóch rąk do zmiany położenia. Dzięki temu jednak raz ustawiona lampa nie zmieni swojej pozycji. Nie ma mowy o samoczynnym przestawieniu się czy opadaniu lampy.

In the photos below I showed several possible lamp positions. I think that thanks to this, everyone will be able to choose the position they need. It also gives additional opportunities not only to figure painters or modelers, but also to YouTube and Twitch streamers.

Na poniższych zdjęciach pokazałem kilka możliwych ustawień lampy. Myślę, że dzięki temu każdy dobierze potrzebne mu ustawienie. Daje to też dodatkowe możliwości nie tylko malarzom figurek czy modelarzom ale również Stremerom YT czy Twitch.

LED PANELS

The lamp is equipped with 5 LED panels. The manufacturer ensures that the LEDs used have a Color Rending Index (CRI) of 95+. The total power of all panels is 1350 lumens. According to the manufacturer, the LED panels have specially designed reflectors and diffusion filters, ensuring the light is free from flicker and shadows. In the photos below I showed how we can turn on LED panels depending on our needs.

Lampa została wyposażona w 5 paneli LED. Producent zapewnia, iż zastosowane diody LED mają Color Rending Index (CRI) o wartości 95+. Całkowita moc wszystkich paneli to 1350 lumenów. Zgodnie z informacjami od producenta, panele LED mają specjalnie zaprojektowane reflektory i filtry dyfuzyjne, dzięki czemu światło jest wolne od migotania i cieni. Na poniższych zdjęciach pokazałem jak możemy włączać panele LED w zależności od naszych potrzeb.

OLD LAMP VS LUCENT

STARA LAMPA VS LUCENT

Honestly, I was afraid that the lamp would be too weak. 1350 lumens, versus ~1260 lumens in my old lamp, did the trick. It turned out that LUCENT shines brighter than my old Vallemann, modified with LED strips. The ability to adjust the temperature also proved to work. The light is much better than what I used previously. I hope you will see the difference in the photos below.

Szczerze mówiąc obawiałem się, że lampa będzie za słaba. 1350 lumenów, versus ~1260 lumenów w mojej starej lampie dało radę. Okazało się, że LUCENT świeci mocniej, niż mój stary, zmodyfikowany taśmami LED Vallemann. Możliwość regulacji temperatury również okazała się działać. Światło jest znacznie lepsze niż te, które stosowałem poprzednio. Mam nadzieję, że na poniższych zdjęciach dostrzeżecie różnicę.

SUMMARY

PODSUMOWANIE

The LUCENT lamp from Game Envy is a really good product at a reasonable price. 1350 lumens is in my opinion (45-year-old with magnifying glasses :)) sufficient power. A CRI of 95+ is perfect for our needs. The color reproduction looks really great here. The lamp is light and takes up little space on the desk. It can be folded to a really small size and easily transported, for example, to workshops. Operation with touch buttons works very well. Gradual and stepless regulation of lighting power and temperature works great. The ability to set different lamp positions is also a good idea. The only disadvantages I see after several months of use are the limited availability of the product in stores outside the US and the lack of a power supply with an EU plug. You also have to get used to the specific operation of the lamp's hinges, but once we place it on the desk, we won't change much. If you are looking for a lamp for your workshop, I sincerely recommend considering LUCENT.

Lampa LUCENT od Game Envy o naprawdę dobry produkt w rozsądnej cenie. 1350 lumenów to moim zdaniem (45 latka z okularami powiększającymi :) ) wystarczająca moc. CRI na poziomie 95+ jest idealne dla naszych potrzeb. Odzwierciedlenie barw wygląda tu naprawdę świetnie. Lampa jest lekka, zajmuje mało miejsca na biurku. Da się ją złożyć do naprawdę małych rozmiarów i łatwo przewozić np. na warsztaty. Obsługa dotykowymi przyciskami działa bardzo dobrze. Stopniowa i bezstopniowa regulacja mocy świecenia czy temperatury działa świetnie. Możliwość ustawiania różnych pozycji lampy to również dobry pomysł. Jedyne minusy jakie widzę po kilkumiesięcznym użytkowaniu to ciężka dostępność produktu w sklepach poza USA oraz brak zasilacza z wtyczka EU. Trzeba się również przyzwyczaić do specyficznego działania zawiasów w lampie, ale jak raz ustawimy ją sobie na biurku to raczej niewiele będziemy zmieniać. Jeśli szukacie lampki do warsztatu, to szczerze polecam rozważenie LUCENT'a. Widziałem już w Polsce podobne klony ale uważajcie na nie. Prawdopodobnie robił je ten sam producent jednak posiadają mniej paneli LED, słabszą moc i CRI w granicach 80 lub nawet mniej...
