Warmaster - How to magnetize bases?

Today, a small guide on how to magnetize the basess of Warmaster models. The question of how to do it often appears on FB groups, so I decided to describe it. Of course, the method below can be used for other figures as long as they are not too heavy. You can also use the well-known and popular neodymium magnets. However, sometimes these magnets may turn out to be too strong. All this to safely transport the miniatures in all kinds of metal suitcases.

Oczywiście poniższa metoda może zostać zastosowana do innych figurek o ile nie są zbyt ciężkie. Możecie również zastosować znane wszystkim dobrze i popularne magnesy neodymowe. Czasem te magnesy mogą się jednak okazać zbyt mocne. Wszystko to po to aby bezpiecznie transportować figurki we wszelkiego rodzaju metalowych walizkach.

Warmaster uses standard bases with dimensions of 20x40mm. It doesn't matter what kind of bases you use and what material. The following method will work in any case. Personally, I print the bases for my models myself using Elegoo Mars 3 Pro 3 resin 3D printer. I'm using a free project: 20x40mm base for Warmaster, spaces for washers and model's bases.

W grze Warmaster używane są standardowo podstawki o wymiarach 20x40mm. Nie ważne jakich dokładnie podstawek używacie i jakiego materiału. Poniższa metoda będzie działać w każdym przypadku. Osobiście sam drukuje podstawki pod moje modele na drukarce 3D Elegoo Mars 3 Pro. Korzystam z darmowego projektu: 20x40mm base for Warmaster, spaces for washers and model's bases.

I recommend those bases if you have 3D printer. They have prepared places for gluing metal washers. This makes the bases heavier. But this is completely optional and it depends only on you whether you want heavier models. If you have metal models, gluing washers may also be unnecessary.

Polecam Wam właśnie te podstawki jeśli macie drukarkę 3D. Posiadają one przygotowane miejsca do wklejenia metalowych podkładek do śrub. Dzięki temu podstawki są cięższe. Ale jest to całkowicie opcjonalne i zależy tylko od Was czy chcecie mieć cięższe modele. Jeśli posiadasz metalowe modele to wklejanie podkładek również może okazać się zbędne.

The washers can be glued with regular Super Glue.

Podkładki można przykleić zwykłym klejem typu Super Glue.

If there is a need to level out any irregularities, e.g. after printing directly without supports, they can be leveled with fine sandpaper. Remember that such resin dust is carcinogenic.

Jeśli jest potrzeba wyrównania jakiś nierówności np. po wydruku bezpośrednio bez supportów, można je wyrównać drobnym papierem ściernym. Pamiętajcie, że taki pył żywiczny jest rakotwórczy.

I bought sheets of magnetic stickers on a well-known auction website :) These sheets are available in various thicknesses. The thicker they are, the more stronger they will be. I used a thickness of 0.7 mm. I also managed to buy sheets that are factory cut into 20x40mm pieces.

Na znanym portalu aukcyjnym zakupiłem arkusze magnetycznych naklejek :) Arkusze te są dostępne w różnej grubości. Im grubsze, tym większą moc przyciągania będą miały. Ja zastosowałem grubość 0,7mm. Udało mi się również kupić arkusze, które są fabrycznie pocięte na kawałki 20x40mm.
